Online Counselling Nationwide

National Online Counselling Service

Online counselling works the same as traditional face-to-face counselling. The only difference is that appointments happen through your computer, tablet or smart phone in a place that can be more comfortable and more convenient for you, such as your own home, office or other private setting. Furthermore, Online Counselling can be carried out over video and/or instant messaging.

Online counselling allows you to connect with yourself and others regardless of where you may be in the world. Therefore, whether you are at home, at work or even abroad you need not be alone. For this reason, we want to make this online service and easy and useful for you. Therefore, all of our counsellors are fully qualified, insured and Garda vetted.

Most noteworthy, Helplink’s professional, qualified, insured and Garda vetted counsellors are available at times to suit you, 7 days a week and out-of-hours.

Opening hours:

  • 9 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday
  • 12 to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday
  • (Closed on Bank Holidays and Christmas/New Year’s Eve).


Here at Helplink we offer Low Cost Appointments. As a non-profit organisation we try to keep the fees for appointments as low as possible. For this reason, employed people the cost for a general counselling appointment is 50 or €45 with a GP referral (letter or email). Please ask about the fees for the other types of counselling appointments we offer, as these fees vary.

Discounted Fees: full-time (Post Secondary) students (part-time counselling students), single parents, persons working less then 20 hours a week or unemployed persons in receipt of a social protection payments (e.g. Jobseeker’s Benefit/Allowance, Disability Benefit, Illness Benefit) appointments are discounted to 30 for general, addiction and bereavement counselling; you must provide evidence of your status to avail of this fee.

NOTE: For young people (under the age of 18), the appointment price is determined by which category their parents and/or guardians fall into.

* If you want to cancel or postpone your session you must do so 48 hours in advance. Consequently, a cancellation fee may apply.
